Asus has announced a new monitor designed for hardcore gamers. It’s the world’s first gaming monitor that supports 5K resolution gaming at 180Hz refresh rate. It also has a dual-mode that lets you reach a 330Hz refresh rate. Overkill? Maybe or maybe not, here’s everything you need to know about the ROG Strix XG27JCG, ahead of its probable showcase at CES 2026.
What’s special about the Asus ROG Strix XG27JCG?
The all-new Asus ROG Strix XG27JCG is a spec’d-out monitor, featuring a 27-inch IPS display supporting 5K resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels. It boasts up to 180Hz refresh rate support with overclocking. The monitor supports dual-mode function, allowing you to switch between QHD at 330Hz or 5k at 180Hz.
The gaming monitor has a high brightness of 600 nits, meaning you can easily keep it in a well-lit room. Notably, the typical brightness for the screen is set to 350 nits. The screen has 218 PPI pixel density and 97 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut.
Furthermore, it has Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support. It has several port options, including a single DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, 1x USB Type-C port, 3x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and 1x 3.5mm headphone jack.

Although Asus hasn’t revealed its price and availability, it was already listed on a retailer’s website for HKD 6,499 (about Rs 75,520). It is said to be available later in the global markets. It will also likely be showcased at CES 2026, which is almost a month away.
