ASUS has launched the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X in India, and they bring quite a few upgrades. Both handheld consoles blur the lines between handheld and full PC gaming, letting you play Xbox, Steam, and PC games on the move. Here’s everything you need to know.
What's new with the Asus ROG Xbox Ally?
Both the Xbox Ally and Ally X run a custom Windows 11 interface optimised for handheld gaming. They boot directly into an Xbox-style UI, and design that offer offering access to Steam, Battle.net, and Epic libraries. What this means is you don’t just get access to Steam, Battle.net, and Epic libraries, but also Game Pass.
You get both Xbox’s Game Bar and Asus’s Armoury Crate for quick performance tweaks. There’s also a built-in Gaming Copilot that offers guidance, social features, and fast launch tools.
While they look similar the major difference between the Ally and Ally X is the hardware.
The standard Ally comes with the AMD Ryzen Z2 processor, whereas the Ally X gets Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chipset. They both also pack different batteries, with the standard Ally getting a 60Wh cell, while the Ally X jumps to 80Wh battery for longer play sessions.
Both feature the same 7-inch LCD display that gets FHD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate for smooth gaming. There’s also AMD’s FreeSync Premium support here. They come with controls that are tuned for comfort, featuring ergonomic Xbox-style grips, analog sticks, back buttons, hall effect triggers on the base Ally, and impulse triggers on the Ally X.

The duo feature USB-C ports for charging. Connectivity options include, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, microSD expansion (UHS-II), and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Asus ROG Xbox Ally, Ally X prices in India
Coming to the price, the ROG Xbox Ally costs Rs 69,990, whereas the Xbox Ally X will set you back by Rs 1,14,990. They will start shipping from October 16.
