Asus ROG XREAL R1 debuts as the world’s first 240Hz AR gaming glasses

Asus has announced a new pair of AR glasses at CES 2026. Dubbed the Asus ROG XREAL R1, these AR glasses succeed the XREALM ONE Pro, which were announced last year, and come with a bunch of new features. Asus says the new XREAL R1 are the world’s first gaming glasses with a 240Hz micro-OLED FHD display. Here’s everything you need to know.

Key features of the Asus ROG XREAL R1 glasses

The new XREAL R1 AR glasses feature a sporty design when compared to the existing XREALME ONE Pro. The smart glasses boast a 240Hz micro-OLED screen that supports FHD resolution. They also support ROG Control Dock for extensive connectivity with PCs and consoles.

The smart glasses support 57-degrees of field of view, covering 95 per cent of human focused area. The XREAL R1 can connect directly to the ROG Ally handheld console via the USB-C port, enabling up to 171 inches of virtual battlefield for an immersive gaming experience.

Asus says that response times have been reduced by 2ms, and the peak brightness is set at 700 nits. The smart glasses also come with built-in speakers, powered by Bose. When paired with the Doc, you can get game in true 4K resolution at 60Hz.
