Asus’ wild dual-screen Zenbook Duo 14 laptop gets a 2026 upgrade

Having two screens is better than one on a laptop. Asus seems to think so, anyway. The company just revealed the Zenbook Duo 14 (2026) and it looks like a solid refinement over last year’s models.

The Zenbook Duos have always been all about those displays and this year’s no different. You get two 14-inch OLED touchscreens, and they clock in at a 2.8K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate. They are bright, too, hitting 1,000 nits peak brightness.

Welcome upgrades all around

Perhaps the most welcome change is the hinge. Asus has redesigned the lay-flat mechanics to reduce the gap between the two panels by 70 per cent. So now, when you span a window across both, that annoying black bar in the middle should be much less distracting. In fact, the company’s confident enough to call it “hideaway.”

As for the chassis, it uses that fancy “Ceraluminum” material Asus loves talking about. It feels like ceramic but acts like aluminium, and it helps keep the weight down while adding durability. There is also a built-in kickstand that supposedly feels sturdier than previous iterations. You can prop this up in vertical mode or waterfall mode without fearing it might topple over.

The detachable Bluetooth keyboard is still part of the package, now featuring a “MagLatch” system. It uses pogo pins for a secure connection when you want to use it like a traditional laptop.

Under the hood, you get the Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processor, which includes a neural processing unit capable of 180 TOPS for all those AI tasks we keep hearing about.

To keep it running, Asus managed to squeeze in a 99Wh dual-battery configuration. That is significantly larger than what we usually see in 14-inch portables. The thermal system has been upgraded as well, allowing for a higher 45W TDP. That’s plenty high for most tasks without making the laptop sound like a jet engine.

Port selection is decent, offering two Thunderbolt 4 inputs, a USB-A, and an HDMI 2.1. There is no word on pricing yet, but given the top-of-the-line specs, do not expect it to be cheap.
