The ScreenBar Halo 2 is a cool new product from BenQ for illuminating your workspace. Equipped with features like eye comfort and intelligent control, it is aimed at professionals, creators and gamers who prefer working in dim or variable lighting environments. It has arrived as a successor to the original ScreenBar Halo, which was introduced back in October 2023.
BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 key features
The BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2, which comes equipped with a dual-light system, offers 423 per cent wider coverage than the previous generation. The company claims that it took four years of research and user testing to develop this product, which also features a triple-curvature backlight design.
The company claims that Halo 2 users will not encounter issues like glare, undesired reflections or uneven lighting, as it features BenQ’s ASYM-Light optical technology, which uses an 18-degree asymmetrical cut-off angle to direct light onto the desk instead of the screen, completely eliminating glare and preventing direct light from reaching the eyes.
The Halo 2 also offers a couple of smart features, such as motion detection that can turn on the light when the user returns to the desk and turn it off when there is no activity. There’s auto-dimming that adapts brightness based on the surrounding light. With memory settings, users can take advantage of personalised light preferences.
The ScreenBar Halo 2 comes with a redesigned controller that is more intuitive than before. It features an anti-fingerprint coating on the wireless control dial for smoothly adjusting the brightness and colour temperature. Additionally, the company has also revamped the mounting system, now inspired by the gravity-based mechanism of the ScreenBar Pro.
Its new zinc-alloy clamp is designed to work with different kinds of monitors, from curved to ultra-thin. Lastly, the device complements BenQ’s professional monitor lineup.
BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2: Price and availability
