Activision has announced a new battle royale mode called Black Ops Royale. It’s inspired by fan-favourite Black Ops 4: Blackout in 2018. The new mode will be introduced in Call of Duty: Warzone, and will be available later this month. It throws out the rulebook that Warzone players are used to. The game can be played on consoles, mobiles, and PC devices.
Black Ops Royale key details
The Black Ops Royale will arrive on March 13 as a part of Warzone’s Season 2 reloaded update. It is free to play for everybody and will be played on Black Ops 7’s massive Avalon map.

Unlike Warzone, since Black Ops Royale takes inspiration from Blackout, there will be no loadouts, gulag fights, and buy stations. Instead, players will be forced to scavenge and upgrade gear to fight for survival. The matches will have total 100 players split into 25 teams of four players each.
Players start the match with a wingsuit and basic pistol and they have to scavenge the weapons from ground loot and supply boxes. The guns contain up to five attachment upgrades that raises its rarity. Weapons are also categorised in to different archetypes making it easier for players to identify the build or playstyle the weapon is suited for.
Similar to Blackout, players are allowed to carry two pieces of equipment which include grappling hooks, sensor darts, and trauma kits. The original perk system in the game is also back in the latest mode with up to five slots and temporary activation.
A player can be redeployed by using a scavenged redeployed token or teammates can activate a redeployment tower. Players can also take part in optional and side activities in the game.
