DJI Mini 4K announced as an entry-level drone for beginners

DJI rolled out another Mini drone, but this time, it is made exclusively for beginners. With 4K video capture and a 10km radius, the brand quietly unveiled the drone in the global market at its lowest-ever price tag yet. Check out everything you need to know about DJI’s latest offering.

DJI Mini 4K drone: Key features and specifications

At first glance, the DJI Mini 4K will resemble the DJI Mini 2 SE, which hit the stores last year in February. However, the key difference remains the former’s ability to shoot in 4K. Despite the similarities between the two, there is no official statement if the DJI Mini 4K will replace the Mini 2 SE; that said, the two drones fall under a similar price range as of today.

Like the Mini SE, the Mini 4K is a foldable drone and currently does not require FAA registration or Remote ID in the US. It weighs only about 296g which is approximately the same as an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

DJI has designed the drone for beginners and has equipped it with a one-tap take-off as well as landing. It also sports a GPS-guided Return to Home (RTH) and a 3-axis gimbal for cinematic shots. Users new to drones also have the option of using one of its pre-programmed flight modes. Apart from this, DJI claims that the drone comes with a maximum flight time of 31 minutes.

DJI Mini 4K drone: Pricing and availability

The DJI Mini 4K is currently not available for purchase in India. However, it is priced at $299 (roughly Rs 25,000) in the US. Users have the option of choosing the Mini 4K Fly More combo, which comes with additional batteries that extend the flight time to 93 minutes. But apart from this, it comes with a shoulder bag, a two-way battery charging hub and a few extra goodies. The Fly More combo comes with a price tag of $449 (roughly Rs 37,500).
