2025’s standout F1 movie might be heading back to the big screen soon. During a recent Apple TV press day, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali hinted that a sequel to the hit Formula 1 movie could happen, although nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
The original F1 movie, backed by Apple and starring Brad Pitt, became a massive success globally. The film crossed major box office milestones and helped strengthen Apple’s push into big-budget original films. And hence the sequel, which might directly arrive on Apple TV. Here’s everything you need to know.
All you need to know about the F1 sequel
According to Domenicali, discussions around a sequel are happening, but the team wants to make sure the next project meets high expectations. He suggested fans should stay tuned for future updates, while also stressing that any sequel would need to be “very good” to justify returning to the story.
The hints came during Apple TV-related events where Formula 1 and Apple also highlighted their growing partnership across streaming, content and sports coverage.
The original movie was created in collaboration with the sport itself and featured real racing environments, drivers, and teams to deliver an authentic experience.
Reports also suggest that early conversations around a sequel have surfaced before, showing that the success of the first film has kept interest alive internally. However, there is no timeline, cast confirmation or production schedule announced yet.
