Recent reports have revealed that Apple may unveil the iPhone Fold (tentative name) alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in September this year. Apple’s first foldable phone is said to feature a design that differs from traditional foldables such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Vivo X Fold 5.
Reports suggest that the iPhone Fold will feature a nearly square-shaped outer display and will open up to offer a tablet-like screen area. According to a report by SmartPrix, Oppo is preparing to launch the Find N7 to rival Apple’s upcoming foldable.
Oppo Find N7’s first details leaked
The report states that the Oppo Find N7 is expected to inherit some key specifications from the Find N6, which is tipped to launch this month in China. These may include a 200MP primary camera and a 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The major highlight of the Find N7 is its design. The device is said to resemble a passport when folded and can be opened like a book to offer a tablet-like viewing experience. The Find N7 is expected to launch in September, positioning it as a direct competitor to the iPhone Fold.
Samsung is also working on a wider foldable phone
Oppo is not the only brand exploring a wider foldable design. Recent reports suggest that Samsung may also be developing a device tentatively called the Galaxy Wide Fold.
It is said to feature a 7.6-inch internal display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 5.4-inch outer screen. According to a reliable tipster, the device could launch in July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
