April is shaping up to be a packed month for OTT lovers, with a diverse slate of new and returning shows across genres. From the explosive final chapter of The Boys to the highly anticipated return of Beef, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re into crime thrillers, reality drama, or nostalgic revivals, here are eight binge-worthy series you should add to your watchlist this month.

The Boys S5

The popular superhero satire series The Boys returns with its fifth and final season on Amazon Prime Video tomorrow. Get ready for a face-off between Homelander and his super-fascist cronies with our band of heroes and anti-heroes from both the main series and the spinoff, Gen-V.

The logline of the season reads: “In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp’. Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force.

Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.”

Blackmailed into working for some very dangerous people, two deeply incapable siblings become the most disorganised duo in organised crime.

Temptation Island S10

Reality series Temptation Island returns with Season 10 on Netflix. As goes the format, four couples will put their relationships to test when they’re tempted by tempters and temptresses. Will they choose to stay together, or give into the temptation?

The official synopsis states that Season 10 will feature “four couples, at a pivotal point in their relationships,” who “head to a beautiful island far away from their everyday lives where they will test their bonds by living apart, each with a group of singles of the opposite sex.

Isolated from one another, they will go on a journey full of temptation and self-reflection to decide whether to return to their lives together, chart a new path alone, or leave the island with someone new.”

Hosted by Mark L Walberg, Season 10 of Temptation Island, filmed in Hawaii, premieres on April 10. The season spans nine episodes of one-hour each.

Turn of the Tide S3

Hit Portuguese series Turn of the Tide returns on Netflix with its third season on April 10. After spending three years in prison, Eduardo (José Condessa) returns to Rabo de Peixe that is shaken by economic and political interests. The result –  families threatened to be driven out, the fishing industry destroyed and the island changed forever. The four characters thus decide to create Night Justice, a clandestine vigilante group rooted in the community.

They operate in the shadows to return power to those who have been oppressed for far too long.

Produced by Ukbar Filmes and RB Filmes, created by Augusto Fraga and written by Augusto Fraga, Hugo Gonçalves and Tiago R Santos, the third season promises a grand finale to the story. The last season is directed by Augusto Fraga along with Patrícia Sequeira.

20 years later, this family is more dysfunctional than ever. Malcolm, now a father, returns to his dysfunctional family on his parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. Expect new family members and newer resentments bringing in a whole lot of laughter.

Directed by Nick Hornby and Tina Flintoff and produced by Laura Leigh, season two will see Venezuela turning sixteen. Little does the family know that their teenage daughter will have one of the biggest moments of her life, as her boyfriend Noah Price decides to propose on the dance floor. Paris and Tyson also prepare to renew their vows with an elaborate ceremony.

Beef S2

Three years after the first installment of Beef was released, Netflix returns with season two of the anthology series with a new cast and a brand new story. Creator Lee Sung Jin returns as showrunner and executive producer. Anticipation has been high since the second installment was announced in 2024.

Beef S2 is a story of a young, newly engaged couple who work at an elite country club. They film a fight between their millennial boss and his wife leading to “a blackmail war” between the two couples. Lee Sung Jin had revealed at Tudum that season two is loosely based on a loud argument overheard from a neighbour’s home.
