Fujifilm Instax Mini 13 debuts in India with subtle upgrades and familiar charm

Instant cameras have outlived trends, specs races, and smartphone upgrades for one simple reason; they give you something physical, instantly. Not perfect, not endlessly editable, just real and in your hand within seconds.

The new Fujifilm Instax Mini 13 leans into exactly that. This instant camera is not trying to be smarter or more powerful than it needs to be. Instead, it focuses on making the everyday experience of shooting instant photos a little smoother. Here’s everything you need to know about the Instax Mini 13, and its price in India.

Instax Mini 13: Small upgrades that actually matter

The core experience with the Instax Mini 13 stays the same. Twist the lens to turn it on, line up your shot, press the shutter, and wait for the print to develop.

Design-wise, the Instax Mini 13 is playful without being over the top. Colour options like Dreamy Purple, Candy Pink, Frost Blue, Lagoon Green, and Clay White give it a more lifestyle feel than something that looks like traditional camera gear. It’s clearly meant to be picked up and used casually, not overthought.

Where the Mini 13 improves things is in the details. You now get two self-timer options: two seconds and ten seconds. The shorter one is genuinely useful when you’re trying to steady the camera for a quick shot, while the longer timer works better for group photos where you need a moment to step in.

There’s also a small angle accessory included this time. It’s simple, but practical. You can prop the camera on a table or any flat surface, which comes in handy for group shots or when you don’t want to rely on someone else to take the picture.

Close-up mode has been tweaked with parallax correction, which fixes one of the more annoying quirks of older instax cameras where what you saw in the viewfinder didn’t always match what got printed. This should make framing close shots far more reliable.

Automatic exposure is still doing most of the heavy lifting. The camera adjusts shutter speed and flash based on the lighting, so you’re not stuck figuring things out before every shot. It keeps the process quick, which is the whole point of using an instant camera in the first place.

The instax UP! app has also seen some refinement. It now scans prints into your phone more cleanly, which makes it easier to store or share your photos without losing too much quality in the process.

Instax Mini 13: Price and availability

The Instax mini 13 is priced at Rs 10,999 and will be available in India starting March 31. Film packs, including the Pastel Galaxy variant, are priced at Rs 899.
