From long-awaited sequels to bold new IPs, the event had gamers on the edge of their seats. Here’s a look at everything that made waves at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025.
Black Myth: Zhongkui DLC
Game Science rewrote the sequel rules with Black Myth: Zhongkui, introducing a legendary ghost-catching deity with demonic beasts in tow. It’s not just DLC, it’s the next main event in a universe steeped in Chinese folklore.
New Ghost of Yotei trailer
Ahead of Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei release in October, we now have a fresh trailer. This one, titled – Sony of Snow and Vengeance – reveals cinematic poetry. Snow-draped battlegrounds, mist-drenched peaks, and a lone figure consumed by vengeance, every frame feels like samurai cinema.
Makers also announced a co-op DLC called Ghost of Yotei Legends, which is set to launch in 2026.
Silent Hill f trailer
Silent Hill made its eerie return with fresh footage from Silent Hill f. Written by Ryukishi07, the new chapter dives deep into psychological horror with misty landscapes, corrupted visuals, and unsettling whispers at every turn. It’s a chilling reminder of why Silent Hill remains the king of fear.
Delta Force console trailer
Delta Force made a strong comeback at Gamescom with the reveal of Delta Force. The new trailer showcased high-stakes tactical gameplay, mixing modern combat with squad-based strategy. With its grounded action and focus on teamwork, the game looks set to bring back the thrill of classic military shooters for a new generation.
Resident Evil Requiem trailer
The new trailer gives viewers a glimpse into Ashcroft’s backstory. In this new instalment, players control FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft as she investigates her mother’s mysterious death. Set to launch on February 27, 2026, across Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game also offers the choice between first- and third-person perspectives.
Cult of the Lamb - Woolhaven Expansion
Fans of the darkly adorable Cult of the Lamb have more rituals to perform with the upcoming Woolhaven expansion. The update pits your cult against a forgotten god and brings new mechanics tied to the bleak return of winter. The unsettling yet charming aesthetic is still intact, blending community-building with eldritch horror.

Woolhaven promises a full-bodied narrative expansion rather than just a content drop, making it a must-play for anyone who has already lost countless hours to the Lamb’s twisted world.
Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition
One of the most iconic strategy franchises finally makes its way to PlayStation. Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition will arrive on November 4, 2025, complete with all four campaigns, 35 missions, and 10 playable civilisations.
The port has been reworked with PS5 controls in mind, ensuring that console players can experience RTS gameplay without compromise.
Bonus: Sekiro anime
Adding to the surprise announcements, FromSoftware revealed that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is getting a hand-drawn anime adaptation titled Sekiro: No Defeat. It’s set to stream on Crunchyroll in 2026. The trailer teased a faithful retelling of the Wolf’s bloody path through Ashina.
