PS5 Ghost of Yotei Limited Edition console features traditional Japanese art form

Sony has announced something special for those eagerly awaiting Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei. Ahead of the game’s release, Sony has revealed the PS5 Ghost of Yotei Limited Edition bundle, which brings the beauty of Ezo (now Hokkaido) directly to the console’s body.

All about the PS5 Ghost of Yotei Limited Edition

The PS5 Ghost of Yotei Limited Edition isn’t just any other limited edition bundle; rather, it contains a themed PS5 alongside a DualSense Wireless Controller. The limited edition console comes in two colour variants – Gold and Black.

Each variant takes different inspirations for the design. The Gold Limited Edition has been inspired by the Japanese art form – kintsugi, which is a traditional process of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer and gold. Sony says that the authentic design mirrors Atsu’s journey of healing and resilience.

The Black Limited Edition draws inspiration from another Japanese traditional art form called Sumi-e, which is the use of black ink on paintings. The design of this variant expresses the landmarks of Ezo through bold black brush strokes, echoing Atsu’s inner struggle and journey towards redemption.

The bundled DualSense Wireless Controller also comes with a matching art, featuring a silhouette of Atsu on the DualSense touchpad. Other than the console and the controller, the limited edition bundle also ships with a unique mask that users can unlock in the game. Users also get a set of seven PSN avatars that feature the art of Atsu and each member of the Yotei Six.

Interestingly, those who already own a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro but want the Ghost of Yotei art can purchase console covers with the same design as the limited edition bundle.

The PS5 Ghost of Yotei Limited Edition bundle and the new console covers will be available starting October 2, the same day as the game’s launch.
