Harrier.ev gets a Dolby Atmos upgrade for its in-car audio system

Tata Motors has announced a collaboration with Dolby with the aim of taking the in-car audio experience in its recently launched Harrier.ev to the next level. In essence, the electric vehicle’s audio system will support Dolby Atmos, along with a few compatible apps to let you enjoy the entire immersive experience.

In a press note, Dolby has announced how it plans to leverage the existing speaker setup inside the car, ensuring you hear every beat, note, and sound element. Speaking of which, the EV is equipped with Harman’s JBL Black audio system comprising of a 10-speaker setup.

This includes four 6.5-inch speakers, four tweeters on the front and rear doors, a centre-channel speaker on the dashboard, and a subwoofer in the boot. Complementing this setup is an 8-channel amplifier.

It’s worth noting that this enhanced audio setup is only available in the Fearless+ and Empowered trims.

Harrier.ev infotainment system

Notably, the Harrier.ev also boasts another entertainment-specific feature – a 14.53-inch Neo QLED display that promises to deliver a home theatre-like experience. The expansive display, paired with the Dolby-backed audio setup, ensures you enjoy every bit of your time in the car.

The infotainment system will also be compatible with apps to support the Dolby Atmos experience, like Gaana and Audible.

Harrier.ev prices, availability

Launched in India last month, prices for the Tata Harrier.ev start from Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Adventure 65 variant. This variant also comes with a 65kWh battery pack and a 3.3kW portable charging cable. While bookings have commence last month, the EV has gone into production only a couple of days back.

Those interested, will be able to choose from six trims – Adventure 65, Adventure S 65, Fearless+ 65, Fearless+ 75, Empowered 75, and Empowered 75 AWD. Colour options include Empowered Oxide, Nainital Nocturne, Pristine White, and Pure Grey.
