We already witnessed Honor’s advanced robots at MWC 2025, and the future looks even more promising. Honor is gearing up to make headlines at MWC 2026, once again, with a concept device that feels straight out of science fiction.
Dubbed the Honor Robot Phone, this upcoming concept handset promises to merge robotics, photography, and multi-modal AI into one ambitious package. The teaser reveals a pop-up AI camera module mounted on a gimbal with a rotatable motor; a first for any mainstream smartphone.
In a short video shared on X, Honor described the device as a “revolutionary AI device” that brings together next-generation imaging and robotic mobility. The camera appears to “pop up” from the rear housing, capable of tracking subjects or interacting with its environment. Pretty much like a gimbal on a mechanical arm.
The brand claims it has an “AI brain” that can analyse a user’s outfit, surroundings, or even entertain a child, hinting at contextual intelligence beyond regular photography.
Design inspired by robots, refined by smartphones
While the company hasn’t disclosed full specifications yet, the Robot Phone sports a hole-punch display on the front and a rear design that seems inspired by the iPhone 17 series, featuring a glass centre panel framed by metal edges. The rear setup includes a triple-camera module, possibly integrating the robotic eye within it, with the Alpha symbol marking its position in Honor’s expanding AI ecosystem.

Interestingly, the teaser also shows what looks like a USB Type-C port on the movable camera, potentially for accessories or data transfer. The power and volume buttons sit on the right edge, leaving the left side clean. According to Honor, the robot camera will retract into a glass-protected enclosure when not in use, blending safety with spectacle.
The Honor Robot Phone is expected to make its global debut at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, marking the brand’s boldest experiment yet in fusing artificial intelligence and mechanical design into a smartphone form factor.
