Instagram Stories will soon get four new sticker packs; here’s what you should know

Instagram introduced Stories in 2017, transforming what was once just a photo-sharing app. Ever since, the feature has been a go-to way for users, celebrities and brands to share updates throughout the day. Over time, the Meta-owned platform went on to introduce developments such as the Close Friends filter and templates. However, the company, in a recent statement revealed how users will soon be able to add four new packs of stickers to their Instagram Stories. Here’s everything you may need to know about them.

Meta introduces four new sticker packs for Instagram Stories

Over the course of years, it has become increasingly simple to express yourself via an Instagram Story. Whether you want to add a location pin or tell the world about your new Spotify obsession, Instagram has added multiple widgets to this feature for it to remain user-friendly. This time around, the social media app has introduced four new ways to interact with your followers via Stories; here’s what they are:

1. Add your music

It was always possible to share a song or post lyrics on your Instagram Story; however, it has now become easier to share your favourite songs or discoveries using a new sticker icon. All you have to do is tap on the sticker icon and select the ‘Add your music’ option. Then, you can go on to choose a song from Instagram’s library. Once you’re through posting, your friends and followers will be able to add their own music using the ‘Add Yours’ button on the sticker.

2. Frames

Instagram now has an option to turn your post into an instant print with its Frames sticker. The sticker will allow you to post a photo from your gallery and allow users to reveal it by tapping or shaking their smartphone. To use this feature, you need to tap on the sticker icon and navigate to Frames. Once you do this, the app will prompt you to select a picture from your gallery with a caption. After posting, your viewers can tap or shake to reveal the photo on your Story. Soft-launching your partner just got easier!

3. Reveal

Wondering how to get your crush to slide into your DM? This new sticker on Instagram Stories will only reveal your photo if you DM the original poster. Within Stickers, tap on Reveal and type a hint for your friends. Don’t worry, Instagram will allow you to then preview your Story before you can hit post. After posting, your friends will have to write you a DM to see the content.

4. Cutouts

Your Instagram Stories can make you the main character by allowing you to paste unique stickers for your followers. Within the sticker icon page, select Cutouts. It will let you choose a photo from your gallery and automatically generate it as a sticker for you. Next, you can paste it on any template and post it as a Story. You can also create a sticker from your Instagram photos by clicking on the three dots icon on it. A drop-down should give you the option of creating a sticker.

According to Meta, these additions will allow users to commuicate more effectively. That said, it will also give an edge to content creators looking for engagement and promote interactions with brands or small businesses more effectively.
