Apple dropped its new iPhone 17 lineup at its “Awe Dropping” event last night, and with it comes a full-blown colour palette refresh that’s shaking things up for the standard and Pro models alike. Let’s check them out.
iPhone 17 colour options: A major reshuffle
Let’s start with the regular iPhone 17. Apple is serving up a more subdued menu compared to the iPhone 16, with Lavender, Sage, and Mist Blue, alongside the classic White and Black.
The whole collection feels decidedly less contrasty, almost like the saturation slider was turned down a notch—though that person who’s very much into minimalism would dig them.
The big news in the lineup is the all-new iPhone Air, which steps in to replace the Plus model. This impossibly thin phone gets a suitably airy and premium set of colours all its own. You can grab it in Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, or Sky Blue. These aren’t wild, experimental shades—leave that to the device’s svelte build itself.

Now for the main event, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Apple has officially moved on from the earthy, muted titaniums of the iPhone 16 Pro. The new roster features Silver, Deep Blue, and the showstopper, Cosmic Orange.
One shocker might be what’s missing. For the first time in a while, there’s no black or space grey option for the Pro models, which is a bold move that might alienate folks who love a stealthy gadget.
Instead, Apple seems to be pushing everyone toward colour this year with the new orange. Apple made a huge deal of this at its launch event, and for good reason. It’s a bold, punchy hue rarely seen on a ‘Pro’ device, which usually sticks to a conservative playbook.
This colourful refresh is paired with some price hike. The iPhone Air prices start at Rs 1,19,900. The Pro and Pro Max models also see a significant price increase, now starting at Rs 1,34,900. The standard iPhone 17 does see its 256GB variant get a slight price drop—Rs 82,900.
