The iPhone 15 was not released in Product Red variant marking it the first time since the iPhone 7 in 2017 to not ship with the colour shade. Additionally, Apple has limited this variant to the standard non-Pro models. That may finally change this year as the Cupertino-based tech giant is testing a red finish on the iPhone 18 Pro models.
iPhone 18 Pro may arrive in Red finish
Per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple could launch the iPhone 18 Pro in ‘Deep Red’ shade. This comes after the company introduced the iPhone 17 Pro last year in Cosmic Orange. It has quickly gained popularity across the globe. Hence, Apple seems to be attempting a Red colour option for this year’s flagship as red and orange are close to the colour wheel. The brand may also end up launching the device in both shades.
The latest development of a Red finish should spark interest among iPhone Pro owners who were never able to get their hands on the colour. Gurman also reports that Apple is rumoured to be working on Purple and Brown colours but they’re probably the variants of the same red concept.

Previously, brighter and vibrant shades were reserved for the non-pro iPhone models.
The report states that Apple will play it safe with the iPhone Fold colours. The company is tipped to release the device in just two colours – dark gray or black and a variation of white or silver. Apple took a similar approach with the iPhone X. Limiting colour finishes would simplify the manufacturing process, especially for a new form factor.
As usual, Apple is expected to unveil its next-generation iPhones at fall event in September. We can expect more leaks and rumours in the coming months.
