Rumours are rife that Apple’s September launch event this year could see the arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max phones alongside the company’s first foldable phone. Months ahead of the expected launch, GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu has published a research note outlining some of the upgrades that are likely to come to the iPhone 18 Pro models. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest iPhone rumors.
Smaller Dynamic Island
The Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro models is expected to reduce in size. This will reportedly be achieved by integrating Face ID components under the display, thereby minimising the cut-out area on the screen.
Performance upgrades
Apple’s first 2nm chip – the A20 Pro – is expected to power the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. While technical details remain under wraps, it is anticipated to bring improvements in performance along with enhanced power efficiency.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are also said to feature Apple’s upcoming N2 chip, which promises better connectivity over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The C2 modem, which is expected to bolster cellular connectivity, will reportedly power the Pro models as well.
Apart from the above details, a recent leak reveals that the iPhone 18 Pro Max could pack a larger battery, although the exact mAh capacity has not yet been disclosed. As a result, it may end up being the heaviest iPhone ever.
Additionally, while the iPhone 18 Pro models are likely to retain a similar rear design to the previous generation, they may not carry forward the dual-tone finish. The Pro models are expected to arrive in new shades, such as burgundy, brown, and purple.
Apple’s March 4 launch event confirmed
In related news, Apple has confirmed that it will hold a special event on March 4. Reports suggest it could see the arrival of multiple devices, such as the iPhone 17e, M4 iPad, a low-cost MacBook, and new MacBook Pro models featuring M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
