iPhone 18 Pro series could launch without price hike says analyst report

Apple’s upcoming flagship lineup is already generating discussions months ahead of its expected debut. Recent analyst reports suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro models could arrive with a familiar pricing strategy, even as component costs continue to rise across the industry.

iPhone 18 Pro pricing may remain similar to predecessor

According to a research note from analyst (via) Jeff Pu, Apple is reportedly planning to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at starting prices similar to the current generation. Supply chain insights indicate that the company is focusing on cost management strategies to keep entry-level pricing unchanged or close to existing levels.

This approach aligns with earlier expectations shared by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who suggested that Apple aims to avoid significant price increases despite growing manufacturing expenses. In the United States, the iPhone 17 Pro currently starts at $1,099, while the Pro Max version begins at $1,199. In India, the base variants of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are priced at Rs 1,34,900 and Rs 1,49,900, respectively.

If the latest predictions prove accurate, the upcoming Pro models could carry similar price tags. Reports suggest that Apple is negotiating favourable deals with suppliers such as Samsung and SK Hynix to offset rising costs associated with DRAM and NAND storage.

Expected launch timeline

Leaks indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro series may introduce new hardware upgrades alongside pricing stability. The devices are rumoured to feature telephoto extender lenses and a next-generation 2nm A20 Pro chipset designed to improve performance and efficiency.

Battery capacity could also increase, with the Chinese variant of the iPhone 18 Pro Max tipped to include a 5,000mAh unit, while global versions may feature slightly larger batteries ranging between 5,100mAh and 5,200mAh. The bigger battery could make the 18 Pro Max the heaviest iPhone ever.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are widely expected to debut in September, potentially alongside Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 models are believed to arrive later, indicating a staggered release strategy for the upcoming generation.
