JBL Authentics series speakers bring premium sound to retro design lovers

Portable speakers have come a long way in terms of the audio quality one can expect, and one of the brands that has been synonymous with quality audio over the years has been JBL. The brand’s newest product carries the same signature sound that JBL headphones and speakers have over the world, but with a twist.

Enter the new JBL Authentics series – three speakers that will take you back a few decades to the era of boomboxes, when portable speakers defined personal and social entertainment. JBL promises striking sound and features with the new speakers, and here’s all you need to know about them.

JBL Authentics 200, Authentics 300

The JBL Authentics 200 and Authentics 300 come with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity support, and also feature advanced features like automatic self-tuning. The speakers also support the JBL One application, which allows further customisation of your sound profile.

The speakers feature voice assistant support, also making them smart speakers once you hook them up to your Wi-Fi network. Both Alexa and Google Assistant are supported. That said, both these speakers miss out on Dolby Atmos support.

The JBL Authentics 200 and the JBL Authentics 300 are priced at Rs 44,999 and Rs 54,999 respectively.

JBL Authentics 500

Besides the above two, there’s also the JBL Authentics 500, which is the flagship model in the series. In addition to all the above-mentioned features like JBL One app support, voice assistant support and self-tuning, the Authentics 500 also supports Dolby Atmos.

The JBL Authentics 500 is priced at Rs 79,999.

All three speakers support music streaming through Apple AirPlay, Alexa MultiRoom Music (MRM), Spotify Connect and Chromecast. Multiple JBL Authentics series speakers can also be clubbed together or placed through different parts of the home to create different moods.

The speakers will be available from the JBL website and other major retailers starting today.
