Lenovo launches entry-level tablet with 10.1-inch display in India

Lenovo has dropped a new budget-friendly contender into India’s tablet scene dubbed the Lenovo Tab. Built for the streaming-first crowd and casual users who don’t need bleeding-edge specs, this tablet blends a sizeable screen, a battery that won’t give up mid-binge, and a price tag that lands firmly in the “why not?” category.

At Rs 10,999, it’s pitched squarely at students, seniors, and anyone who just wants a no-hassle companion for everyday tasks. Here’s everything you need to know.

Lenovo Tab: Everything you need to know

Front and centre, you get a 10.1-inch FHD+ display that’s crisp enough for movies and shows, with 60Hz refresh rate and up to 400 nits of brightness. Lenovo has also baked in TÜV certification to keep blue light emissions in check when you’re doomscrolling in low light.

Under the hood, the Lenovo Tab houses a MediaTek Helio G85 processor paired with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB eMMC storage. It’s nothing to brag about, but quick enough for browsing, streaming, and light gaming.

It runs Lenovo ZUI 16 based on Android 14, with the promise of two years of OS updates and four years of security patches, which is a solid commitment for its class.

Cameras are modest. There’s an 8MP shooter at the back, and a 5MP selfie camera up front. But paired with Dolby Atmos audio and a metal body, the package feels a touch more premium than the price would suggest. Powering it all is a 5,100mAh battery with 15W fast charging, which should see you through a day’s use without a power socket panic.

Connectivity-wise, there’s Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 5, face unlock, and even an inbuilt kickstand (handy for hands-free video calls or binge sessions). The tablet’s Standby Mode doubles it as a digital clock or a rotating photo frame, adding a little smart display vibe when it’s not in active use.
