Lenovo’s rollable ThinkBook laptop is finally available, but don’t get too excited

Lenovo has officially launched the world’s first rollable laptop, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 rollable. What started out as a concept is now a real product. It looks like a regular 14‑inch laptop, but it can extend vertically into a tall display. With the extended screen, you get almost 50 per cent more screen space for multitasking, reading, and designing. Here’s everything you need to know.

All about the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 sports a 14-inch screen that extends upwards, resulting in a 16.7-inch display. Rollout takes only a couple of seconds, and Lenovo’s software adapts the interface to the taller layout with split‑screen options and gesture control. Windows may not natively support rolling screens yet, but Lenovo’s interface smooths that over.

Durability has been tested with multiple roll cycles. The extension mechanism is motorised, making it seamless. The screen itself is an OLED panel that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, 400 nits brightness, and full DCI P3 colour coverage.

The laptop is powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V processor and Intel Arc integrated graphics. You get up to 32 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. Even with the rollable screen it weighs just under 2 kg and remains comparatively slim.

This is also one of Lenovo’s Copilot Plus PCs meaning it includes AI-powered tools like intelligent app snapping context‑aware task switching, and workflow enhancements tied to the extended display. Lastly, it boots on Windows 11 OS out of the box.

Price and availability

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 rollable AI PC is now available for purchase in the US, but don’t get too excited. Lenovo is asking a whopping USD 3,499 (about Rs 3,06,000) for this laptop. That’s quite expensive, but that’s what you pay to experience the latest and something that’s still nascent in its development stage at this point.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on the India launch of the laptop. But if we get any details about its India availability, we’ll update this story.
