Upcoming Meta Ray-Ban Scriber and Blazer glasses surface in FCC filings

Meta appears to be preparing its next wave of AI-powered wearables, as new filings hint at upcoming Ray-Ban smart glasses. The models, named Scriber and Blazer, have surfaced through regulatory documents, indicating that a launch may not be far away. These developments suggest Meta is continuing to expand its presence in the smart glasses segment.

FCC listings reveal new models

According to a Low Pass report, the new Ray-Ban Meta Scriber and Ray-Ban Meta Blazer smart glasses have appeared in filings with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The documents reportedly describe the devices as production-ready units rather than prototypes, which often indicates that an official announcement could follow soon.

This aligns with Meta’s previous launch cycle, where products were introduced shortly after regulatory approval. While much of the technical information remains undisclosed, the filings mention model numbers RW7001 and RW7002.

This marks a notable jump compared to earlier models, suggesting internal hardware changes. The Blazer variant is also expected to come in more than one size, including a larger option, offering users additional flexibility in fit.

Key details revealed

One of the key details emerging from the filings is support for Wi-Fi 6, particularly the UNII-4 band. This could improve connection stability and enhance features such as live streaming and AI-assisted video processing. The presence of a charging case is also referenced, indicating that Meta may continue offering portable charging for extended usage.

Meta’s partnership with EssilorLuxottica remains central to these devices, combining technology with familiar eyewear designs. The company has reportedly seen strong growth in this category, with millions of units sold and plans to further scale production. At the same time, Meta has been expanding its wearable lineup while adjusting its focus within other divisions.

Although full specifications are yet to be revealed, the Scriber and Blazer models indicate steady progress in Meta’s wearable ambitions.
