Motorola has officially started pushing the stable Android 16 update to some of its smartphones following a beta period that began back in June. The new software is making its first appearance on the Motorola Edge 60 Pro in Brazil and the Edge 50 Fusion in Mexico.
The stable Android 16 update is landing on select devices
For those keeping score, the Edge 60 Pro update is a 2GB download with firmware version W1VV36H.7-21-5, while the Fusion gets a 1.54GB package labelled W1UU36H.21-14-3.
The official changelog, as reported by Gizmochina, is identical for both phones and is surprisingly brief. It promises a more personal and secure experience.
This update includes:
– More personal and secure.
– More expressive design
– Protection against malicious apps
– Better support for LE audio devices

The mention of a “More expressive design” likely points to Google’s new Material Expressive UI language making its way to Moto devices. Enhanced security against rogue apps and better compatibility with LE audio hardware are welcome additions, too.
As you can see, there is no mention of Android 16’s most exciting features, like Live Updates for tracking activities without opening apps. It is possible some of these are baked into the core of Android 16 and will show up anyway.
And finally, while the changelog doesn’t mention it, the update will likely be layered with Motorola’s Hello UI on top. This is a clean, modern Android skin that replaced the previous My UX.
For now, the update is rolling out in very limited regions, but we should also see it land in India soon enough.
