There’s no other reason Nothing would melt (a) Lite blue candle

Nothing Phone (3a) Lite India launch pretty much confirmed in a cryptic teaser

Nothing’s love for cryptic teasers is back in full flair, and this time, it’s dripping in wax. The brand’s latest teaser video shows a pale blue candle slowly melting over a weighing scale. As the wax pools away, the display settles firmly at 199g. The caption? “Melting (a) Lite blue candle for no reason”.

Except, of course, there is a reason. An almost-too-obvious nod to the upcoming Nothing Phone (3a) Lite, likely in a new Light Blue colourway, and almost certainly weighing under 200g.

The Phone (3a) Lite is already confirmed for a November 27 launch, and this teaser lines up neatly with that timeline. It also fits with earlier whispers that India will get an exclusive Blue variant, making the candle not just poetic, but deliberate. Nothing’s marketing has never been subtle, but it’s always strangely satisfying.

Nothing Phone (3a) Lite: Specs and expected price

Since the Lite model has already gone global, the specs aren’t a mystery. It runs on Nothing OS 3.5, built on Android 16, with the brand promising three years of OS updates and six years of security patches.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro, the same chip as the Phone (3a), paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. There’s also support for microSD expansion, up to a very generous 2TB.

Up front is a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits of peak HDR brightness. This is bright enough to compete with phones far above its price bracket. The camera setup is led by a 50MP main sensor, joined by an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP additional shooter, plus a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

The battery is a familiar 5,000mAh cell with 33W fast charging, there’s Panda Glass protection on both sides, and IP54-rated resistance against dust and splashes. No wireless charging here, but that’s hardly a deal-breaker at this price point.

The Phone (3a) Lite launched globally at €249, which roughly translates to just above Rs 25,000 in India. However, reports indicate it could be priced under the Rs 20,000 mark in India. If Nothing sticks to that sub-20K sweet spot, it could easily become one of the most accessible entries into the brand’s design-focused ecosystem, without dipping into the CMF lineup.

Would you pick one up if it hits that Rs 20K mark? And what did you make of the melting candle clue? Let us know in the comments.
