OnePlus took the wraps off the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro recently, and it’s the brand’s latest and the most powerful tablet in its portfolio yet. It comes with a new design, a Snapdragon chipset, and a large battery. But what’s exactly new over the existing OnePlus Pad 2? Well, let’s find the answer to that question in this OnePlus Pad 2 Pro vs OnePlus Pad 2 showdown.
OnePlus Pad 2 Pro vs OnePlus Pad 2: Design, display
The OnePlus Pad 2 Pro brings a drastic design change over the OnePlus Pad 2. OnePlus has gone for a minimal rear design, with a single camera setup placed in the upper right corner.
The OnePlus Pad 2, on the other hand, has a circular camera island placed on the right side in the middle. The Pad 2 Pro is sleek at 5.97mm thickness as opposed to the 6.5mm thickness of the Pad 2. Both, however, feature an all-metal design.
The Pad 2 Pro boasts a larger 13.2-inch LCD display with a 3.4K resolution and a 144Hz smooth refresh rate for gaming and scrolling. The Pad 2 has a slightly smaller 12.1-inch LCD panel with the same refresh rate and similar resolution.
OnePlus Pad 2 Pro vs OnePlus Pad 2: Performance, battery
The OnePlus Pad 2 Pro takes the performance up a notch as it packs the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is also present in the OnePlus 13. It also has up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.
The standard OnePlus Pad 2 is also powerful, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. However, it has a maximum of 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Other than performance, the new Pad 2 Pro also houses a larger 12,140mAh battery as opposed to Pad 2’s 9,510mAh cell. Both have 67W fast charging support. So, the Pad 2 Pro may take some time to get fully charged, but it may get you a longer battery life.
OnePlus Pad 2 Pro vs OnePlus Pad 2: Cameras, connectivity, OS
Apart from this, both tablets have a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The connectivity options also stay the same, i.e., Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and GPS support. Since the Pad 2 Pro is newer, it runs Android 15 out of the box, which means it may get an extra year of updates.

Overall, the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro brings several upgrades over the Pad 2. But, the Pad 2 for Rs 36,999 is still a great tablet in 2025, and those who own it may not need to necessarily upgrade. However, those buying a new tablet can directly go for the Pad 2 Pro as it offers a bigger screen, better performance, and a longer battery life. It costs roughly Rs 37,900 in Europe and is expected to launch in India soon.
