Oppo F31 series to land in India soon with a strong focus on durability

Oppo is readying its F31 5G series for India, with the official launch set for September 15. The new lineup will take over from the Oppo F29 series and comes with the tagline “Durable Champion”.

It’s a clear sign of where Oppo wants to position these devices; not just as mid-range crowd-pleasers, but as smartphones built to go the distance in both design and durability. Here’s what’s known about the Oppo F31 series so far.

Oppo F31 series launch date and availability

The Oppo F31 Series 5G will make its India debut on September 15, as already confirmed by the brand. At launch, Oppo is expected to introduce three models, including the F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+. While pricing and exact availability details are still under wraps, Oppo has already confirmed that the phones will hit Indian shelves soon after the launch event.

Oppo F31 series: What’s known so far

The early visuals show Oppo leaning into bold finishes. One model arrives in a gold-champagne shade, its textured back panel featuring a subtle radial pattern that draws the eye toward the circular camera module. Another opts for a deep blue finish with reflective, sparkling accents that shift in the light. Both stick to flat sides and a large round camera module, design choices that give the phones a sharp, confident look.

What defines the Oppo F31 series is the battery life and its durability. Oppo has packed in a 7,000mAh cell across the board, a bump over the 6,500mAh unit in the F29, and paired it with fast charging.

On the F31 Pro, that means 42 per cent battery in just 20 minutes, plus the ability to reverse charge other devices at 10W. Oppo also claims the battery is rated for 1830 charging cycles, which translates to around five years of daily use without significant degradation.

Durability is more than just battery longevity. The F31 Pro will carry IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications, making it dust-tight and water-resistant to a degree rarely seen in this segment. Oppo describes it as a 360-degree armour body. Jargon aside, it should mean a phone that can handle the unpredictability of real life, whether that’s heavy rain, a spill, or the occasional drop.

As mentioned before, leaks suggest three models are on the way, including the Oppo F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+. The F31 is tipped to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300, paired with the same 7,000mAh battery and faster 80W wired charging.

The F31 Pro is said to stick with the Dimensity 7300 from its predecessor but upgrade the battery capacity, while the top-end F31 Pro+ could feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 alongside 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

On paper, the F31 Series looks like Oppo is doubling down on endurance. A bigger battery, higher charging cycles, and an unusual level of ingress protection suggest these phones are aimed at users who value longevity as much as specs.

The design, meanwhile, leans on colour and texture to give the series an aesthetic appeal. With the launch just days away, it won’t be long before we know if Oppo’s durability-first pitch translates into real-world staying power.
