Oppo Find X9 Ultra leak hints at a bigger 4.28x optical teleconverter

Rumours suggest that Oppo may unveil the Oppo Find X9 Ultra by March this year in China. Speculation is also rife that the device could launch in India and other markets shortly after its China debut.

Weeks ahead of the official announcement, the alleged Find X9 Ultra has appeared in real-life images. While the device is enclosed in a protective case that attempts to conceal its design, the images still reveal some key elements. Additionally, they suggest that the phone may support a more advanced telephoto converter than the Find X9 Pro.

The Find X9 Pro comes with an optional Hasselblad Teleconverter magnetic lens accessory that offers 3.28x optical magnification. When attached, it transforms the phone’s 200MP periscope lens into a true 230mm (10x) focal length, delivering genuine optical background blur and lossless detail that digital zoom cannot replicate.

The Find X9 Ultra’s real-life images indicate that it may ship with a larger teleconverter accessory, offering a higher 4.28x optical zoom and a 300mm focal length. If this leak proves accurate, the X9 Ultra’s 4.28x teleconverter would mark a significant leap in mobile optics, enabling professional-grade long-range photography with unprecedented sensor-level detail.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra camera specifications (rumoured)

According to reports, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s quad-camera setup will be led by the all-new Sony LYT-901 50MP main camera, which may debut on this phone. It is expected to be accompanied by a Samsung JN5 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 200MP OmniVision OV52A 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The aforementioned teleconverter is likely to extend the capabilities of this periscope camera.

The camera system is also said to include another Samsung JN5 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom, along with a multispectral lens for improved colour accuracy. For selfies, the phone is expected to feature an autofocus-enabled Samsung JN5 50MP front camera.

Apart from this, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to sport a 6.82-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Under the hood, it may pack a 7,000mAh+ battery with support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
