Oppo K13s announced with a large battery and Snapdragon performance

Entry-level phones aren’t that value for money lately, as you lose out on some of the essential features. Performance and display are two of the main areas where you might see the cost cutting. Fortunately, Oppo’s latest smartphones aren’t like any other entry-level offerings.

Coming in the K-series, the all-new Oppo K13s packs a whopping 7,000mAh battery, a fast 120Hz display, and a Snapdragon chipset – all at a starting price of under Rs 20,000. Its cheaper sibling offers a slightly smaller battery and MediaTek performance starting at under Rs 10,000.

What’s special about the Oppo K13s?

Unlike most entry-level phones, the Oppo K13s offers a large 6.8-inch FHD+ display and not an HD+ resolution panel. Interestingly, it’s an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming.

Performance is backed by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, which is based on 4nm fabrication process. It comes in 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM options with 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The large 7,000mAh battery keeps things running, and there’s 80W fast charging for quick top-ups.

Since everything else appears to be maxed out on the phone, the camera is where the K13s compromises. It has a dual-rear camera, but only the main sensor, i.e., a 50MP Omnivision unit, is usable. It also has OIS for smooth footage. The secondary sensor is a 2MP depth unit. Upfront, there’s a 32MP selfie snapper.

Other features of the phone include enhanced durability with IP66, IP68 + IP69 ratings, and support for an in-display fingerprint scanner. It boots on Android 15 OS with ColorOS 15 on top.
