The Pixel series has felt like the quirky alternative to the mainstream might of Apple and Samsung for years. But that impression is changing. With models like the Pixel 10 Pro, Google phones are stepping into the ring as genuine heavyweight contenders. But whether you should pick the phone up over the iPhone 16 Pro is a different story. Read on to know more.
Pixel 10 Pro vs iPhone 16 Pro: Design and display
The first thing you will notice when holding these two phones is the weight. The iPhone 16 Pro tips the scales at 199 grams, making the 207-gram Pixel 10 Pro feel a bit dense. That said, Google does seem to win on personality. The iPhone’s colour palette is a bit serious with its various Titanium finishes. The Pixel 10 Pro, on the other hand, comes in fun shades like Jade and Moonstone that stand out.

But when you turn them on, the fight gets closer. Both devices sport beautiful 6.3-inch LTPO displays with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The real difference maker is brightness. The Pixel 10 Pro’s screen can blast out an incredible 3,000 nits, easily overpowering the iPhone 16 Pro’s still-respectable 2,000 nits. It makes outdoor visibility a non-issue for the Pixel.
Pixel 10 Pro vs iPhone 16 Pro: Cameras
Apple’s iPhones always deliver a polished and reliable camera experience, and the iPhone 16 Pro is no different. It even adds a new physical Camera Control button for a more DSLR-like feel. But Google is playing a different game entirely, mixing superior hardware with its software magic.
The Pixel 10 Pro’s main weapon is its 48-megapixel telephoto camera. It uses a much larger sensor than the iPhone’s 12-megapixel zoom lens, which translates to dramatically better, sharper photos when you punch in. For capturing distant subjects, the Pixel is in a league of its own. This hardware advantage is supercharged by AI tools like Camera Coach for better composition and an absurd 100x Super Res Zoom.
Pixel 10 Pro vs iPhone 16 Pro: Performance and extras
Under the hood, Apple’s new A18 Pro chip is an absolute performance monster. It will handle any task you throw at it without breaking a sweat. Google’s Tensor G5 chip is a lot slower in benchmarks. It’s built with a different philosophy, which is AI.
Features like Magic Cue proactively pull up information you need, and Google is even bundling a free year of its AI Pro service. While Apple Intelligence is a step in the right direction, it still feels a generation behind Google’s more integrated system.
The Pixel also scores a few points on daily convenience. It supports 45W wired charging that leaves the iPhone’s 25W speed in the dust. Plus, its new PixelSnap magnetic system (borrowed directly from the iPhones) is built on the open Qi2 standard, meaning all those MagSafe chargers and accessories you might have will work perfectly.
Pixel 10 Pro vs iPhone 16 Pro: Price
The Apple iPhone 16 Pro starts at Rs 1,12,900 for the base 128GB model. The Google Pixel 10 Pro lands at Rs 1,09,999. For a couple thousand less, the Pixel 10 Pro gives you double the storage at 256GB and more RAM. You also get a brighter display, a more versatile and powerful zoom camera, and much faster charging.
On paper, the Pixel 10 Pro clearly takes the cake in terms of specs. However, the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a significantly faster chipset – a win for gamers – and should be handier for people involved with social media. The apps simply work smoother, and editing is a more seamless process.
