Poco F8 Pro, F8 Ultra gaming-ready phones debut with Snapdragon 8-series chip, massive battery

Poco held a global launch event to unveil the Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra. These performance-focused phones pack 144Hz AMOLED displays, Snapdragon 8-series chipsets, and massive batteries. Continue reading to know their specifications, features, prices, and availability.

Poco F8 Pro, F8 Ultra: Specifications and features

The Poco F8 Pro has a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution, whereas the F8 Ultra is a larger offering equipped with a 2K resolution. Both phones are equipped with dual speakers powered by Bose, and the Ultra variant gets an additional speaker fitted next to the rear cameras for an enhanced audio experience.

While the Poco F8 Pro features the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the F8 Ultra is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Both devices are equipped with LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and 100W wired charging.

The F8 Pro has a 6,210mAh battery, whereas the F8 Ultra gets a larger 6,500mAh battery with an additional 50W wireless charging support. The series runs on HyperOS 3-based Android 16 and is confirmed to receive four years of Android OS upgrades along with five years of security updates.

The Poco F8 Pro’s camera setup includes an OIS-enabled 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide snapper, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom. Selfies are handled by a 20MP front camera.

On the other hand, the Poco F8 Ultra features a 32MP front camera. Its rear setup has an OIS-assisted 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

The Poco F8 series comes with other common specs, such as an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor and an IP68-rated chassis equipped with a metal middle frame. The F8 Ultra is also equipped with a faster USB 3.2 Gen 1 port.

To sum up, the Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra are rebranded versions of China’s Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max phones, respectively. The only differences are that the Poco models pack smaller batteries compared to their Chinese counterparts.

Poco F8 Pro, F8 Ultra: Price and availability

The Poco F8 Pro is priced at $579 and $629 for the 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants, respectively. It comes in shades like Blue, Black, and Titanium Silver,.

On the other hand, the F8 Ultra comes in two options: 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB. These variants are priced at $729 and $799, respectively. It has arrived in colours like Black and Denim Blue.

At present, there is no clarity on whether the Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra will be released in India.
