Realme 16 5G has launched in India today, and it joins the existing Realme 16 Pro 5G and 16 Pro+ 5G phones that were announced in January. The device is touted to be the first smartphone in the country with a unique built-in rear mirror for capturing selfies.
Interestingly, the Realme 16 5G looks like a combination of Google Pixel 10 and the iPhone Air with its camera bar and a slim design. Here’s everything you need to know about the newest Realme phone.
Realme 16 5G specifications and pricing
The Realme 16 5G comes with a 6.57-inch OLED screen bearing an FHD+ resolution, 4,200 nits peak brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is integrated with the fingerprint scanner.
The smartphone has an IP69 certification against dust and water resistance. It measures just 8.1 mm thin, and the device comes in Air Black and Air White colours, with the latter having a gradient back panel.
The Realme 16 5G camera system accommodates a 50MP main sensor paired with a 2MP monochrome unit. There is a 50 MP front-facing snapper and the rear camera bar has a mirror that acts as a viewfinder while clicking selfies. You can simply ‘Say Hi’ to trigger a countdown. The phone features LumaColor imaging technology for true tones with vivid light. There are also various AI-based features onboard.
The Realme 16 5G draws its power from a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset under the hood. It packs up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The smartphone features a 6,050 mm2 air flow vapour cooling chamber for thermal management. It is backed by a 7,000mAh battery unit with support for 60W fast charging.

On the software front, the Realme 16 5G runs on a Realme UI 7 based Android 16 out of the box and is eligible for three years of OS updates and four years of security patches.
Realme 16 5G price in India, availability
The Realme 16 5G starts at Rs 31,999 for the base 8GB+128GB variant. The 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB configurations carry a price tag of Rs 33,999 and Rs 36,999, respectively.
