Realme GT 7 launched and it’s all about style and speed

We are in the midst of an exciting Formula 1 season, and getting in on the action is Realme. The smartphone maker has launched its latest GT 7 series, which comprises of three new smartphones.

But what really stands out, at least for us F1 fans, is the Realme GT 7 Dream Edition. This handset has been co-designed with the Aston Martin Aramco F1 team and sports the team’s signature green colour and silver wing logo at the back.

It’s not just the phone either. The special edition feel starts right from the moment you open the box. There’s a special case that resembles an Aston Martin F1 car, a sporty looking SIM card ejector pin, and a set of custom wallpapers, icons, and themes for the phone.

As far as the phone is concerned, you get a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution, 6,000 nits of peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate. There’s also Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protecting the screen from scratches.

Under the hood is a MediaTek 9400e octa-core chip paired with 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. This is the first smartphone in India to ship with the new MediaTek chip and promises top-notch gaming performance. In fact, it is said to offer a stable 120fps frame rate when playing games like PUBG and BGMI.

For photography enthusiasts, there’s a triple-camera setup at the back. This includes a 50MP primary lens, 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calling, there’s a 32MP snapper up front.

Another highlight of the phone is the 7,000mAh battery powering the device, which is said to offer over 60 hours of standby time, and over 20 hours of YouTube playback time.

Needless to say, you won’t have to keep hunting for a phone charger during the day. When you do need one, there’s support for 120W fast charging. Realme claims that the battery can charge from 1-100 per cent in just 40 minutes.

The series also includes the Realme GT 7T smartphone, which comes with a 6.80-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood is a MediaTek 8400-Max chipset paired with 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB storage.

For photography, there’s a dual-camera setup at the back. This includes a 50MP primary camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Up front is a 32MP snapper.

This phone too is backed by a massive 7,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. On the software front, the new smartphones run Android 15-based Realme UI 6.0 with promise of four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

Realme GT 7 series pricing, availability

Pricing for the Realme GT 7 start from Rs 39,999 for the base model (8GB RAM + 256GB storage). The mid (12GB + 256GB) and the top (12GB + 512GB) variants are priced at Rs 42,999 and Rs 46,999 respectively. This phone will be available in black and blue options.

Prices for the Realme GT 7T start from Rs 34,999 for the base model (8GB + 256GB). The mid (12GB + 256GB) and top (12GB + 512GB) variants are priced at Rs 37,999 and Rs 41,999 respectively. This phone will be available in black, blue and racing yellow colours.

Lastly, the Realme GT 7 Dream Edition is priced at Rs 49,999 for the single variant sporting 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The phones will be on sale starting from May 30.
