Realme P1 Pro 5G, P1 5G smartphones launched in India; here’s all you need to know

Realme has been looking to snatch the lion’s share in the budget and mid-range smartphone segment in India recently, having launched a slew of smartphones. This includes the Realme 12 and 12+ 5G, the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ 5G, as well as the Realme 12X 5G and Realme Narzo 70 Pro 5G.

Each of these phones is suited to a very different use case, at different price points within the budget and mid-range smartphone segment. And now, it has launched two more additions to the same. Namely, the Realme P1 5G and the Realme P1 Pro 5G. The company launched the devices at an event alongside the Realme Pad 2 Wi-Fi variant and the Realme Buds T110. Here’s all you need to know about the newest phones from the company.

Realme P1 Pro 5G: Features and key specifications

The more expensive of the two, the Realme P1 Pro 5G is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, coupled with an Adreno 710 GPU. The phone gets 8GB RAM and is available with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Under the hood is a 5,000mAh battery, with support for 45W SuperVOOC fast charging.

The display on the smartphone is an FHD+ curved AMOLED screen 6.7 inches in size, with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The phone gets a textured back reminiscent of more premium phones such as the OnePlus 12, and a metallic frame. It also has a dual-stereo speaker setup with support for Dolby Atmos, and an IP65 water and dust resistance rating, meaning it can handle the elements with ease.

Coming to optics, the Realme P1 Pro 5G has a dual-camera setup at the rear, housed in a large, center-aligned circular island, similar to the Realme 12 series. This consists of a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with support for OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front is a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Realme P1 5G: Features and key specifications

The base Realme P1 5G is powered by the 6nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, coupled with a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, which Realme claims makes it the fastest phone in the segment. The phone is available in a 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage, and an 8GB RAM variant with 256 GB of storage. It also gets a 5,000mAh battery, same as its more premium sibling, with support for 45W SuperVOOC fast charging.

The display on the device is a 6.67-inch AMOLED unit with a screen-to-body ratio of 92.65 per cent, an FHD+ resolution (2,400×1,080 pixels), and a 120Hz refresh rate. Strangely though, it has a peak brightness of as much as 2,000 nits, as compared to its more expensive sibling’s 950 nits. For audio, there is a stereo speaker setup on the phone.

The phone also gets a textured back encased in a metal frame, albeit with an IP54 water and dust resistance rating. This means it should be able to handle mild levels of dust and minor splashes of water, at the most.
