Xiaomi’s Smarter Living 2024 event took place on April 23, which saw the unveiling of a host of new gadgets. While the event was hosted virtually in India, the brand went on to make significant announcements, including the Redmi Note 13 AFA edition, which commemorates Xiaomi’s 10-year anniversary in India. 

Apart from this, the brand also introduced an entry-level Redmi Pad SE and Redmi Buds 5a that will soon be available for purchase in India. If you happen to miss out on the announcement, we have you covered with everything you need to know about it.

Redmi Pad SE launched: Key features, specs

The Redmi Pad SE was unveiled as the ideal ‘everyday companion’ to have on your commute. It sports an 11-inch FHD+ display, 400 nits brightness, and a 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the tab also flaunts a premium finish with its metal unibody and is available in two colours.  

On the performance front, the tablet comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 Mobile Platform under the hood paired with up to 8GB of RAM. You also get quad Dolby Atmos speakers which the brand claims can facilitate a cinematic experience on the go.

The Redmi Pad SE runs Android 13-based MIUI skin and you get an 8MP back camera, along with a 5MP front camera on the tablet. Additionally, Redmi has provided an 8,000mAh battery capacity, along with 10W charging support, with a USB Type-C port.

Redmi also unveiled its budget TWS earphones that come with noise-cancellation technology on a budget. The brand has designed the earphones to remain lightweight and the facade resembles that of a ‘polished pebble’. 

The earphones boasts 12mm drivers and have environmental as well as ambient sound technology of up to 25dB. This, according to Redmi, is especially useful while making calls when in a noisy environment. Moreover, they are designed to provide a deep bass and deliver an immersive audio effect. 

Additionally, the company has also equipped the Redmi Buds 5a with Google Fast Pair and an IPX4 rating for your outdoor working session. Lastly, the earbuds can last up to 30 hours on full charge and a quick charge of 10 minutes can provide you with up to 90 minutes of playtime. 

Redmi Pad SE, Redmi Buds 5a: Pricing and availability

The Redmi Pad SE is priced at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB/128GB variant and Rs 13,999 for the 6GB/128GB model. You have the option of choosing between Graphite Grey and Lavender Purple colours. Other significant options within this price range include the Realme Pad 2 and the Lenovo Tab M10 3rd Gen

The Redmi Buds 5a are currently available at a special launch price of Rs 1,499 and can be purchased in black and white colour options. Alternatively, you can purchase the Noise Aura Buds TWS earbuds or the BoAt Airdopes Kick TWS earbuds that offer similar features within the abovementioned price range. 

The tablet as well as the earphones will go on sale beginning April 29 and will be available across major e-commerce platforms, mi.com and retail stores.

What else was unveiled at Xiaomi Smarter Living 2024?

Apart from these gadgets, the Xiaomi Smarter Living 2024 also showcased the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Cleaner S10 backed with laser navigation technology and a 2-in-1 water tank.

Apart from this, it also introduced the Xiaomi handheld Garment Steamer that can cater to all types of fabrics and is suitable for both horizontal, as well as vertical use.
