Xiaomi 14 Ultra announced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a Titanium Special Edition

Xiaomi had announced its Xiaomi 14 series smartphones, including the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Pro. However, the brand had one more device left to take on top-end flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and that is the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

Now, Xiaomi has announced the phone in China, which gives us a confirmed look at its new design, specifications and features. There’s even a new special edition variant. Here’s everything you need to know about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra: New camera and Titanium Special Edition

The new Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with a large camera island on the back comprising of four cameras. This includes a main 1-inch 50MP Sony LYT900 sensor that can capture more light than most smaller sensors thanks to its size. The sensor also comes with OIS (optical image stabilisation).

This is accompanied by a two 50MP telephoto cameras, one with 3.2x optical zoom and 75mm focal length, and another with 5x optical zoom and 120mm focal length. The last camera is a 50MP ultrawide sensor, while the front camera is a 32MP sensor.

Photography enthusiasts will be glad to know that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will also support a proprietary camera kit that includes a DSLR-like grip for the phone that sports its own battery and Bluetooth controls.

The phone also comes in a Titanium Special Edition, something we already had a clue about thanks to leaks. This special edition comes with a titanium body which makes the phone lighter yet stronger. Xiaomi also adds that this edition comes with two-way satellite communication support.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra: Specifications

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with a 6.73-inch LTPO display with a curved screen and a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels. The 120Hz AMOLED panel also comes with 3,000nits peak brightness and is protected by a new Shield Glass standard.

The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, just like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, the phone doesn’t boast of any exclusive AI-powered features just yet like Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite.

This is coupled with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The phone also comes with Android 14-powered HyperOS skin. There is a large 5,300mAh battery on the phone, which supports 90W wired charging, 80W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The phone also comes with support for Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner, which is more secure than regular under-display fingerprint scanners.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra: Pricing and availability

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra starts at CNY 6,499 (about Rs 74,800) for the base 12GB RAM/256GB storage variant. However, the Titanium Special Edition variant comes in at CNY 8,799 (about Rs 1,01,300) and sports 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

While the phone is currently only available in China, it remains to be seen if Xiaomi will bring the device to India. Even if the Xiaomi 14 Ultra makes it to India later this year, the fate of the Titanium Special Edition remains a mystery for Indian fans of the series, as it could join the long list of Xiaomi smartphones that are announced overseas but never make it to India.
