Redmi Projector 4 series announced with AI auto-focus, portable design

Xiaomi has announced two new Redmi-branded portable projectors in China. The Redmi Projector 4 and Projector 4 Pro come with key features such as enhanced brightness, smart autofocus, and seamless integration with Xiaomi’s HyperOS Connect platform. Redmi Projector 4 Pro: Specs and features

The Redmi Projector 4 Pro supports a 1080p native resolution with a peak brightness of 600 CVIA lumens. For those unaware, CVIA stands for China Video Industry Association, a standard developed in China for consumer projectors.

The Projector 4 Pro allows users to project screen sizes between 45 and 120 inches using its 1.25:1 ratio lens. It also includes MEMC motion compensation and SGS-certified blue light filtering.

It is equipped with a ToF (time-of-flight) laser module and an HD camera combined with an AI algorithm that enables automatic focusing and omnidirectional keystone correction in just two seconds. For audio, the device offers a pair of 8W speakers with passive bass radiators. When idle, it can double up as a Bluetooth speaker.

The Projector 4 Pro has a sealed optical engine, preventing dust buildup on the lens and ensuring silent operation at just 29dB. Under the hood, it features the MediaTek MT9660 chip, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and HyperOS Connect, a cross-device integration and smoother interaction across Xiaomi products. Connectivity options include HDMI (ARC), USB 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio port.

The Redmi Projector 4 is a compact and more affordable offering weighing around 1.5kg, compared to the Pro model’s 3kg. While it supports a native full HD (1080p) resolution, it delivers 360 CVIA lumens of brightness. When it comes to projection, it supports a 1.2:1 throw ratio, projecting screens from 55 to 120 inches.

Under the hood, it features the same MediaTek chip, RAM, storage, and OS support. It comes with a ToF module for quick autofocus, automatic keystone correction, and AI picture adaptation that adjusts image settings in real time. The projector is equipped with dual 5W speakers with a digital amplifier and supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

Redmi Projector 4 series: Price and availability

In China, the Redmi Projector 4 and Projector 4 Pro are priced at CNY 999 (~Rs 12,300) and CNY 1,499 (~Rs 18,450), respectively. The global availability of these devices is yet to be confirmed.
