In September, Redmi introduced the Redmi TV X (2026) with an 85-inch display in China, aimed at consumers seeking a cinematic large-screen experience at a reasonable price. Now, the brand has expanded the lineup with a massive 98-inch edition, which was unveiled at the same event that saw the launch of the Redmi K90 series. The Redmi TV X (2026) 98-inch screen edition features a mini-LED panel with 880 backlight zones and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. It supports 4K resolution, HDR10+ content, and a native 144Hz refresh rate, which can be boosted to up to 288Hz in gaming mode. Apart from offering impressive viewing angles, it offers 94 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and achieves ΔE≈2 colour accuracy.

Xiaomi’s proprietary eye-protection system adjusts colour temperature dynamically and reduces blue light emission for a comfortable viewing experience in any light condition. The screen is powered by AI-driven local dimming and a dedicated colour engine that enhances contrast and delivers deeper blacks, all while offering natural colour reproduction.

For an enhanced gaming experience on the massive screen, the TV comes with support for Dolby Vision Gaming, FreeSync Premium, VRR, and a 4ms response time. It comes with Xiao AI voice assistant support and can function as a smart home hub.

The Redmi TV X (2026) 98-inch model runs on HyperOS 3, promising seamless connectivity across Xiaomi devices. It can also be used for streaming sports on split screens or displaying artwork when the TV is idle.

Under the hood, it has a quad-core Cortex-A73 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. On the connectivity front, the TV offers options like Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, three HDMI ports (two HDMI 2.1 with eARC), two USB ports (one USB 3.0), Ethernet, and optical audio output.

98-inch Redmi TV X (2026): Price and availability

In China, the 98-inch Redmi TV X (2026) is priced at CNY 7,599 (about Rs 93,550), which is almost double that of its 85-inch edition, which costs CNY 4,799 (about Rs 59,100). While both models are available for purchase in the home market, there is no information about their global or India launch timelines.
