Samsung has reportedly begun internal testing of its upcoming One UI 8 update, based on Android 16, on two budget Galaxy phones in India. While Samsung hasn’t officially revealed any details about the testing, a server listing indicates the existence of two firmware versions of One UI 8. These firmware versions are for Indian F and M series models.

Firmware version E346BXXU7EYG7 has been spotted for the Galaxy F34, while version M366BXXU1BYG2 has surfaced for the Galaxy M36. Both builds have appeared on Samsung’s servers in India, confirming that testing is already underway.

One UI 8 brings a refreshed user experience and system-wide improvements to Samsung phones. Having said that, the Galaxy budget phones will get the much-needed revamp with One UI 8.

It’s unclear if these budget phones will also get the new AI-powered features that are available on the pricier Galaxy S25 lineup. Notably, the new Android 16-based One UI 8 was shipped out of the box with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. Samsung is also testing the public beta on the Galaxy S25 lineup.

Although a public beta for One UI 8 is currently available only on select flagship models, these internal tests on budget phones suggest Samsung may roll out Android 16 to entry-level devices sooner than expected.

As of now, there is no official word on when the stable version of One UI 8 will be released for the Galaxy F34 and M36. But going by past timelines, users can expect the broader rollout to begin in the coming months.
