Samsung Galaxy A35 5G, Galaxy A55 5G launched with Exynos chips, 4 years of software updates

Samsung’s A-series phones are known to bring some quality specifications and all the popular One UI features to those who don’t want to spend flagship-grade budgets. Now, the brand has released two new phones in this series.

These are the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G and Galaxy A55 5G. Here’s all you need to know about the two phones, including price, features and specifications.

Samsung Galaxy A35 5G

The more affordable phone of the two, the Galaxy A35 5G, comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.

Under the hood the phone is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1380 chipset, and comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and the latter can even be expanded with an external MicroSD card up to 1TB.

The smartphone also features a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP main camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation), a secondary 8MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera. There is also an 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

Lastly, the phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery, that supports 25W fast charging and runs OneUI 6.1-based on Android 14. Samsung also promises 4 years of software updates with the phone.

Samsung Galaxy A55 5G

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G comes with the same 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate. In fact, it even packs the same 5,000mAh battery. That said, it’s the cameras and processor where the phone differs from the A35 5G.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 is slightly more powerful thanks to an Exynos 1480 chipset, and can be purchased with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone is powered by Android 14 too, and gets the One UI 6.1 skin on top.

There is a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera. There is also a higher-resolution 32MP front-camera for selfies and video calls.

Samsung Galaxy A35, A55 5G: Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G is priced at Rs 30,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant, while the 8GB/256GB variant is priced at Rs 33,999. This sets the device against rivals like the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ or the Realme 12 Pro+.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is priced at Rs 39,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant, Rs 42,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant, and Rs 45,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant. Other options you can consider at this price include the Nothing Phone (2) and the OnePlus 12R.
