While we are patiently awaiting the launch of Samsung’s upcoming slender flagship dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, the company has launched a slim option in the mid-range smartphone segment. The Samsung Galaxy M56 has arrived in India, and the company claims, this is the slimmest smartphone in its segment.

Samsung claims that the newly-launched Galaxy M56 is the slimmest phone in its class with a 5,000mAh battery. At 7.2mm, it’s a solid option for users who prefer a sleek device that doesn’t sacrifice on power. It is 30 per cent slimmer than its predecessor, the M55, and it weighs only 180g.

The display on the Galaxy M56 measures 6.74-inches. It is a Super AMOLED FHD+ panel with 36 per cent slimmer bezels than its predecessor, and support for 120Hz refresh rate. The display is also significantly brighter than the Samsung Galaxy M55 from last year.

The Galaxy M56 is powered by the Exynos 1480 chipset which is based on a 4nm architecture, making it pretty power efficient. The phone also houses a large vapour cooling chamber, ensuring it stays relatively cool to the touch even when you’re running intensive apps. It comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage.

For optics, the Samsung Galaxy M56 comes with a 50MP primary shooter with optical image stabilisation and 4K video recording support. There’s also an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. The front houses a modest 12MP selfie camera. Users get access to a host of Galaxy AI features at a reasonable price including Object Eraser, Image Clipper, and Edit Suggestions.

The 5,000mAh battery is complemented by 45W fast charging, which remains unchanged from its predecessor. It comes with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the front and back, with 4x scratch resistance compared to its predecessor.

Moreover, the phone will get a whopping six years of software and security updates, making your purchase future-proof. It runs One UI 7 with Android 15 out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy M56: Price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy M56 is priced starting at Rs 24,999 (inclusive of offers). The sale will go live on April 23 at 12PM IST via Samsung.com. Users with HDFC bank cards can avail an instant Rs 3,000 discount. The phone is available in Light Green and Black colourways.
