After its unveiling at Samsung Unpacked earlier this year, details about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge have mostly remained shrouded in mystery. We got a glimpse of the device at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, but no specifications were disclosed at the expo. However, after appearing on two certification databases, a key concern – its battery capacity – has finally been revealed. And it’s not good news.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was recently listed on the UL Solutions Demko and BIS certification websites which revealed that the phone will house a diminutive 3,900 mAh battery within its slim 5.84mm profile – this is 100 mAh smaller than the vanilla Samsung Galaxy S25.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge battery capacity leaked
The listing on UL Demko and BIS reveal that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will have a battery with the rated capacity of 3,786 mAh. Leaks suggest that the advertised value will be 3,900 mAh, which is smaller than the 4,000 mAh cell on the Galaxy S25. The two certifications have been listed with the model numbers EB-BS937ABY and EB-BS937ABE. The BIS listing also reveals that the S25 Edge will indeed make its way to India.
If this turns out to be true, battery life will definitely not be one of the key selling points of the S25 Edge. The listing also reveals that the battery is a Li-ion battery. Many were hoping that Samsung would incorporate a SiC (silicone carbon) battery in the S25 Edge given its slim dimensions, however, it looks like that hasn’t happened.

A silicone carbon battery would mean that the S25 Edge could sport a larger capacity battery as the battery is denser compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge speculated specifications
As per leaks by tipster Ice Universe, the S25 Edge will house a 6.65-inch display – the same size as the Galaxy S25+. The bezels are expected to be narrower though; it should mimic those seen on the S25 Ultra giving it a more premium look. The phone sports two protruding rear cameras and one selfie shooter.
Our initial impressions of the S25 Edge’s look at MWC 2025 were generally positive given its slim and premium look, however, the battery capacity is a cause for concern.
The device could feature a ceramic back panel. It will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the same as the rest of the S25 family. The phone may sport 25 W fast charging, a 120 Hz AMOLED display, a 200 MP rear camera, and it could come in three colour options – Light Blue, Silver, and Black.
