Samsung is reviving the era of the slim smartphone with the launch of its Galaxy S25 Edge – a striking new addition to its flagship lineup. Announced in May but teased earlier in the year alongside the main Galaxy S25 series, the S25 Edge takes a radically different path.
Rather than competing on battery capacity or camera count, it focuses on elegance, comfort, and everyday usability; all without compromising on performance. We had the chance to check it out in person at MWC 2025; you can check out the video below.
At just 5.8mm thick and 163 grams, this new Samsung phone is noticeably slimmer and lighter than the Galaxy S25 Plus, despite sharing much of the same internal hardware.

With a refined titanium frame, IP68 rating, and the world’s first use of Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on a phone, the S25 Edge pairs minimal aesthetics with flagship-grade durability. It’s a return to sleek design, and, of course, a reminder that premium doesn’t have to mean oversized.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Everything you need to know
The Galaxy S25 Edge features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, making it ideal for both daily use and content consumption. While the display size matches that of the S25 Plus, the lighter, thinner build makes a noticeable difference in hand.
The back of the phone is covered in Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while the front debuts Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, offering added scratch resistance and durability.
It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. You’ll also find Samsung’s complete Galaxy AI suite here including Now Brief, Now Bar, and a full range of AI-powered photo editing tools, all layered over One UI 7 on Android 15. Samsung has further promised seven years of OS upgrades and security patches, aligning with Samsung’s long-term software commitment.
The camera system includes a slightly downsized 200MP main sensor, adapted from the S25 Ultra and reduced by 18 per cent to fit the Edge’s slimmer form factor. It’s paired with a 12MP ultrawide camera, while a 12MP front-facing camera handles selfies. There’s no dedicated telephoto lens, but Samsung claims 2x optical-quality zoom from the main sensor.
A 3,900mAh battery powers the phone, with 25W wired charging and wireless support onboard. The battery capacity is a tad underwhelming for 2025, however, we’ll have to see how it performs when we get our hands on the device.
