Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Samsung Galaxy S25+: What’s different?

Samsung’s 2025 flagship lineup is headlined by the Galaxy S25+ and the sleeker Galaxy S25 Edge, which has been finally launched after a much-anticipated wait.

While both Samsung phones cater to premium users, they take slightly different routes in design, camera, battery, and software refinement. Here’s how the two compare side-by-side.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25+: Build and design

The Galaxy S25+ sticks to a more traditional flagship look with a flat design and premium materials. It features Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both sides and is wrapped in Samsung’s Armor Aluminum 2 frame. Weighing 190g and measuring 7.3mm in thickness, it’s both solid and slim. The IP68 rating ensures water and dust resistance.

The Galaxy S25 Edge, on the other hand, is noticeably lighter at 163g and slimmer at just 5.8mm. It keeps the same IP68 water resistance rating and also retains the basic design principle of the S25 series, with a slightly firmer grip in hand, with it’s slimmer body.

The back is also slightly different, because of the dual camera system on the S25 Edge compared to the triple camera setup on the S25+. The ‘fatter’ S25+ may appeal to those preferring a sturdier grip, while the Edge might feel more ergonomic in hand.

Both phones sport large 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The S25+ hits a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, while the Edge includes Vision Booster and adaptive color tone features that may enhance usability in bright conditions.

The differences, while subtle, could influence users. Regardless, both offer a flagship-tier visual experience for streaming, gaming, or day-to-day use.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25+: Performance and software

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25+ comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The Galaxy S25 Edge also ships with Android 15 and One UI 7 and the same, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Samsung promises up to seven years of major OS updates for both, which should offer peace of mind for long-term users. With One UI 7 and the 8 Elite running across both models, the core software experience should remain consistent regardless of the variant.

The S25 Edge, meanwhile, leans into imaging performance with a 200MP wide camera offering 2x optical-quality zoom. It’s complemented by a 12MP ultrawide and a 12MP front shooter. While the S25+ may offer more versatility across zoom levels, the Edge’s high-resolution main sensor could appeal to detail-focused photographers.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25+: Battery life

The Galaxy S25+ packs a 4,900mAh battery with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging is also available at 4.5W. The Edge, however, includes a smaller 3,900mAh battery, supports 25W wired charging (55 per cent in 30 minutes), and features Wireless PowerShare.

Those needing extended screen time may prefer the S25+, but the Edge might suit lighter users or those valuing portability.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25+: Price

The Galaxy S25+ is priced at Rs 99,999, while the S25 Edge has been announced with a global price tag of £1,099 (approximately Rs 1,23,025). In the US, the 256GB variant is priced at $1,099 (approximately Rs 93,352), while the 512GB model costs $1,219 (approximately Rs 1,03,536). Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25+: How to choose

Both phones offer premium experiences but cater to slightly different audiences. The Galaxy S25+ stands out with its larger battery, versatile camera system, and performance specs. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Edge brings a sharper main sensor and a more compact, and what can be called a futuristic design. Depending on your priorities, whether it’s power, portability, or photography, either could be a solid choice.
