Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is finally here and it’s a 10-inch beast with a surprising price tag

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is finally official, marking the company’s first step into multi-folding smartphones after years of refining its foldable lineup. The device introduces a new form factor that prioritises portability, performance and productivity, highlighted by a screen that unfolds into a large tablet-like canvas. Here’s everything you need to know about Samsung’s first tri-foldable phone.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: Specs and features

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold brings an inward-folding design where both sides close towards the centre to protect the main panel. Samsung has added on-screen prompts and haptic feedback to ensure users do not fold it incorrectly.

The inner display stretches to 10 inches with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X QXGA Plus panel that supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1,600 nits peak brightness. On the outside, a 6.5-inch FHD+ screen mirrors the same refresh rate and reaches 2,600 nits.

The device runs Android 16 with One UI 8 and becomes the first Samsung phone to support standalone Samsung DeX, allowing a full desktop-like setup on the go. Powering the TriFold is the customised Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB or 1TB storage.

The rear camera system features a 200MP main sensor with OIS support, a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. Both displays carry 10MP selfie cameras.

Durability has been elevated with dual titanium hinges and a strengthened display layer. The phone measures 3.9mm at its thinnest point and carries an IP48 rating. A 5,600mAh three-cell battery with 45W fast charging keeps everything running.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: Price and availability

Samsung has priced the Galaxy Z TriFold at $2,500 (approximately ~Rs 2,08,000) in South Korea, where it will go on sale from December 12. The company has confirmed that the device will reach China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates before the end of the month, while the United States launch is planned for the first quarter of 2026. As of this writing, it is unclear whether the device will be released in India.
