SanDisk has launched the Extreme Fit USB Type-C flash drive in India, pitching it as a compact solution for users who want extra storage without carrying around an external SSD or hard drive. SanDisk claims the device is the world’s smallest 1TB USB-C flash drive, designed to sit almost flush with your laptop or tablet so it can stay plugged in without getting in the way.
The Extreme Fit is clearly aimed at people who move files between devices frequently, whether it is students juggling coursework, professionals handling large documents, or anyone who simply runs out of storage faster than expected. A flash drive designed to stay put
The headline feature here is the design. Instead of the usual chunky USB stick, the Extreme Fit uses a “leave-in” form factor that barely protrudes from the USB-C port. It’s the kind of accessory you could leave plugged into a laptop for months without noticing.
SanDisk says the drive supports read speeds of up to 400MB/s on the 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants, which should make transferring large photo libraries, videos or project files noticeably quicker than standard USB drives. The 64GB version tops out slightly lower, with read speeds of up to 300MB/s.
The flash drive works with a wide range of USB-C devices, including laptops and tablets, and it integrates with the SanDisk Memory Zone app for managing files, setting up automatic backups, and restoring stored data. The app is available on both Windows and macOS.
