Tecno’s Pova Curve 5G brings style and specs to the budget game

Tecno has officially lifted the curtain on its latest smartphone, the Pova Curve 5G, marking the debut of its new ‘Curve’ series in India. Designed to appeal to budget-conscious buyers, the phone merges an eye-catching design with some serious hardware credentials, all packed into a slim chassis.

Packing specs like a smooth 144Hz display, a large 5,500mAh battery, and an array of AI features, the Tecno Pova Curve aims to stand out in a sea of budget options. Here’s everything you need to know about Tecno’s latest drop in the budget smartphone space.

Tecno Pova Curve 5G: Everything you need to know

At the heart of the Pova Curve 5G is a 6.78-inch full-HD+ 3D curved AMOLED display that offers a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, which is impressive for a phone at this price point.

The curved screen’s 1300-nit peak brightness, coupled with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, makes it stand out in a competitive segment where flat panels typically dominate.

The Pova Curve 5G is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset, built on a 4nm process, and paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Users can also tap into up to 8GB of virtual RAM for added performance headroom. The phone runs HiOS 15 atop Android 15 and is slated to receive one major OS upgrade and two years of security patches.

Tecno hasn’t skimped on the extras. The device brings Tecno’s Ella AI suite, featuring tools like AI Call Assistant, Auto Answer, and Voiceprint Noise Suppression, into play.

On the imaging front, it offers a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor paired with a secondary 2MP camera for portraits, while a 13MP front camera handles selfies. Both front and rear shooters support 4K video recording, a rare feature in the budget category.

Connectivity is also a highlight, with support for 5G, VoWiFi Dual Pass, and an Intelligent Signal Hub System designed to enhance network stability. Rounding out the hardware package are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, dual microphones, an in-display fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, and NFC.

Despite measuring just 7.45mm thick, the Pova Curve 5G houses a substantial 5,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging. Tecno claims a full charge takes just 45 minutes, and the device supports bypass charging to keep temperatures down during heavy use.

Tecno Pova Curve 5G: Pricing and availability

The Tecno Pova Curve 5G will be available in three colourways – Magic Silver, Neon Cyan, and Geek Black. The 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 15,999, while the 8GB model will retail for Rs 16,999.

Sales begin June 5, positioning the Pova Curve 5G as a compelling option for users looking for a stylish, performance-focused device without breaking the bank. To know more about the latest tech launches, stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma.
