As the crowd watched the grand finals of the Valorant Masters Santiago, Riot Games slipped in a surprise reveal. The studio officially introduced Miks, the next agent joining Valorant, and he brings something the Controller class has never had before: team healing.
Miks becomes the game’s seventh Controller and is set to arrive on March 18 as part of Season 2026 Act 2. But unlike traditional smoke specialists, this Croatian sound-wave maestro leans heavily into support play, blending map control with buffs and recovery tools that could make coordinated teams very happy.

According to Riot, the agent was designed with teamwork front and centre. “Miks’ kit was built for the socially motivated player”, said game designer Kevin Meier during the reveal. In other words, this is a character aimed at players who enjoy setting up teammates rather than topping the scoreboard.
A controller that sets the tempo
Controllers in Valorant typically focus on blocking sightlines and shaping how a round unfolds. Miks still does that, but Riot has added a musical twist.
The agent’s abilities are built around sonic waves generated by a gadget called the M-Pulse device. Riot’s developers even started with music tracks during the sound design process, pulling elements from those compositions to shape the final in-game effects.
Visually, the theme carries through. Miks’ design features wave patterns across his outfit and festival-style bracelets, giving him the look of someone who might have stepped off a stage before joining the Valorant Protocol.
His toolkit mixes classic controller utility with team-focused support abilities:
– Harmonise (Q): Grants a Combat Stim to Miks and a targeted teammate, refreshing on kills.
– M-Pulse (C): Throws a device that sends out sonic waves, either healing allies or concussing enemies depending on the selected mode.
– Waveform (E): Deploys smokes across the map using a targeter interface, maintaining the traditional controller role of blocking sightlines.
– Bassquake (X): Fires a powerful sonic blast that knocks back enemies while slowing and deafening them.
Support players may finally get their moment
The mix of healing, concuss effects and team buffs could make Miks one of the most support-oriented agents Riot has added in years. In organised gameplay especially, the ability to heal teammates while still controlling vision might reshape how teams approach site pushes and post-plant fights.

Whether that translates into a dominant pick in the competitive game meta remains to be seen. But if coordinated teams embrace his toolkit, Miks could quickly find a home in pro play across the Valorant Champions Tour.
