Vivo launches the V60, a photography-focused midranger

Vivo has just launched a new mid-range phone in India, the V60. The device succeeds the Vivo V50 launched earlier this year. The highlight features are its powerful Zeiss-tuned imaging system and its massive battery. Let’s dive in.

Great specs all around

Under the hood, the device runs on the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, paired with configurations that go all the way up to a hefty 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It boots FuntouchOS 15, which is based on Android 15. Vivo is also making a big software promise here, guaranteeing four major OS upgrades and six years of security patches.

The display is a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 5000 nits for HDR content.

But it’s photography that’s clearly the V60’s main event. The Zeiss-branded triple camera setup on the back features a 50MP main sensor. The real magic, however, lies in its 50MP telephoto camera which uses the same sensor found in Vivo’s top-tier X200 flagship.

This lets you get incredible 10x zoom shots at concerts or capture portraits from a distance using professional focal lengths like 23mm, 50mm, and even 100mm.

Powering all this is a gigantic 6500mAh silicon-carbide battery, which is miraculously squeezed into a body as thin as 7.5mm. When you do run low, the 90W FlashCharge will let you juice up quickly.

The phone is also brimming with AI features, including Google Gemini integration, an AI Smart Call Assistant that can summarise your calls, and tools to enhance or erase parts of your photos.

Lastly, the V60 is protected by Schott’s Diamond Shield Glass and boasts both IP68 and IP69 ratings. The phone is available in Auspicious Gold, Moonlit Blue, and Mist Grey. Prices start at Rs 36,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, going up to Rs 45,999 for the maxed-out version. It will be available for purchase starting August 19.
